Will your Amazon deal pay for the units you'd sell anyway?
Event traffic lifts sales with or without a discount. One product, one minute: see the lift your deal needs to break even, the deepest discount that still pays, and how much stock to send in.
Your product
Use your last 28 normal days. Fees come off the price the customer pays, so they shrink when you discount. Product cost doesn't.
Deal fee and inventory buffer
Your event and your deal
Lift means event-day sales ÷ normal-day sales. Pull it from your last event if you have one. If you don't, guess low.
Work out your lift from a past event
Were you on a deal that event? Put it in "lift you expect on deal." No deal? Put it in "lift with no deal."

The lift each depth needs
Deeper deals cut profit per unit fast, so the lift you need climbs faster than the discount. Past a point, no lift saves it.
| Deal depth | Profit per unit | Lift needed to break even | Event profit at your expected lift | vs no deal |

How the math works
- Profit per unit
- Price, minus referral fee on the price paid, minus landed cost, FBA fee and ad cost per unit. Ads are in so the answer is closer to what hits the bank.
- Lift
- Event units per day ÷ normal units per day. "No deal" lift is what the event's traffic gives you anyway. It's the bar the deal has to clear.
- Lift needed to break even
- No-deal lift × full-price profit ÷ deal profit, plus whatever the deal fee adds. Clear it and the deal earns more than standing pat.
- Deepest discount that pays
- The depth where profit on deal, at your expected lift, equals profit with no deal.
- Extra units to send in
- Extra event units above a normal run, plus your buffer for the ramp and tail, with a floor of your minimum cover days.
